XFINITY: Elliott Sadler pips Ryan Reed & Spencer Gallagher for the Stage 2 win at Talladega

Daniel Hemric won the race off pit road ahead of Justin Allgaier, Brandon Jones, Ryan Reed and Michael Annett.

Ryan Truex was out in front somewhere out of pit road behind both Allgaier and Hemric.

But NASCAR officials threw him under the bus when Truex speeds too fast on pit road during the stage break.

Christopher Bell has a problem with the brake line after he suffered a flat tire at the end of the previous stage.

It took time to get that problem fixed and now let’s see if he can bounce back later in the race.

1st caution

That’s a couple of bruises down the backstretch as the first caution is out at Talladega.

The No.3 of Shane Lee bumped into Ty Majeski before collecting Chad Finchum, Ryan Truex, and Dylan Lupton.

That day has turned a lot worse for R. Truex when he couldn’t continue the race.

From a speeding penalty to a wreck, things aren’t as high for him and the No.11 car.

Also, massive damage to the front engine cover from Spencer Boyd in the No.76 car.

He too is also out of the race so as Ty Majeski.

It’s the second time that he has got involved in an unfortunate wreck now at the 2.66 mile track.

Things are promising for Majeski at the start of the race when he ran as high as 5th.

But he’s unlucky not to continue the race.

Stage 2 Green Flag resumes, Lap 16 of 25.

It took some time to clean the debris from the accident as going back to green flag racing isn’t too far away.

Daniel Hemric once again leads the field where he chooses the inside line.

But Ryan Reed has the outside line where he takes the lead off Hemric towards the backstretch.

He finished 3rd on his previous superspeedway start back at Daytona in February.

Let’s see if Reed’s restrictor plate knowledge will help him maintain out in front towards the end of Stage 3.

Back to single file field and Elliott Sadler now ahead of Reed for the lead.

Spencer Gallagher is one of the frontrunners currently in 3rd.

He’s the one to watch when it comes to the independent/limited-budget XFINITY Series teams for GMS Racing.

The Top 5 field remains unchanged as Elliott Sadler takes out the Stage 2 win.
