Paul Menard aiming to bounce back this Saturday at Kansas after an unlucky stint of races in recent weeks

Paul Menard is hoping to bounce back with Wood Brothers this Saturday under the lights at Kansas Speedway.

His form continues to suffer in recent weeks as Menard only scored Two ten finishes so far in eleven races this season.

Paul Menard’s Cup Kansas Speedway Record

He made 18 Cup Series appearances at the 1.5-mile track in Kansas City.

Menard posted his first Top 10 finish in 8th place back on October 3, 2010, when he drove for Richard Petty Motorsports at the time.

His first two and a half years at Richard Childress Racing endured mixed results.

However, he posted his best result & only Top 5 so far at Kansas Speedway in 3rd on October 21, 2012.

Menard went on to pick up two more straight Top 10s as he enjoyed a prosperous 2013 in 10th & 7th during the Spring and Fall races respectively.

That consistent run to Top 10 did come to a close as he came home 17th in May 2014.

But, he bounced back on his 5th Top 10 finish later that year when he finished 9th.

Menard’s form has since gone up and down without a Top 10 finish for the next three seasons.

He did pick up two cautions in the past two years with an engine issue (May 2016) and a crash (May 2017).

However, during his last stint with RCR, Menard came home in an okay 12th place on October 22, 2017.

Before he experienced an extended period without a Top 10, Menard had never had a DNF against his name when he racked up One Top 5 & Five Top 10s at the time.

Conclusion

Paul Menard had not yet posted a Top 10 finish since Las Vegas two months ago.

Though, the last time he had an okay run is back at Bristol where he came home 13th.

He demonstrated at times where the No.21 car matched the other competitor’s lap times during practice & qualifying.

However, his race day form continues to suffer through unlucky carnages & mechanical issues.

When Menard got to pit road with nine laps left in Stage 1, something wrong happened as the No.21 had to go to the garage to get their rear end axel issue fixed.

That’s the same type of mechanical issue which robbed Blaney’s progress during both Dover races last year when he drove for Wood Brothers at the time.

Hopefully, Wood Brothers and Menard have spent some time this week by analyzing the car & push back up to full speed.

The No.21 Ford Fusion can tackle the front-runners during practice and qualifying.

However, they need some luck to maintain the balance of the car & survive towards the checkered flag when it comes to race day.

Paul Menard still has a lot to offer when it comes to winning races & staying consistent in his first year at Wood Brothers.

The No.21 pit crew, Crew Chief Greg Irwin, and Spotter Stevie Reeves will work as hard as they can to help Menard finish out this Saturday on a positive note.
