NASCAR: Brad Keselowski aiming to go one better for the All-Star Race Win after came home runner-up in 2012 and 2016

by

Brad Keselowski goes in to start his 10 Days of Thunder as the All-Star Race begins in less than 24 Hours time at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

He hopes that 2018 All-Star appearance can mean a lot peculiar to himself, Team Penske and the fans as Keselowski eyes the $1 million prize.

Brad Keselowski’s All-Star Appearances

Keselowski made his first automatic entry in the Main Event back in May 2009, less than a month after he won his first Cup race at Talladega.

He too started off in 10th before Keselowski came home in 17th on his only outing with Hendrick Motorsports.

When Keselowski switched to Team Penske in 2010, his form improved as he went on to post his first Top 10 All-Star finish in 7th.

Although he didn’t win a race at all in 2010 and after Dover in 2011, Keselowski had to compete in the initial Monster Energy Open Round.

Never mind the process from scratch, Keselowski found another way to enter the Main Event where he came 2nd in the first Open Round.

But he failed to repeat his form into the Main Event as he finished 18th with one lap down in 2011.

During his Championship Season the next year, Keselowski posted his 2nd Top 10 and first ever Top 5 finish.

Though, he fell only short to Jimmie Johnson for the All-Star Race Victory.

The only time he got a DNF to his name is back in 2013 during Team Penske’s first season with Ford Engines.

Keselowski, unfortunately, suffered transmission problems that saw him finish last.

In his last four Main Event appearances, Brad Keselowski always consistently finish inside the Top 10 mark.

He finished on an okay 10th in 2014 followed by 9th in 2015.

Keselowski tied his best All-Star finish of 2nd in 2016 before came home in 9th last year.

Conclusion

The car looks fast as usual on the race track which is always great for Keselowski.

Keselowski always led some laps as well as consistently finishing in the Top 10.

Although, his race last weekend at Kansas wasn’t right where he came home 14th.

But what he hasn’t yet ticked off his goal which is a visit via victory lane.

He could’ve done a bit better if he would’ve won a race before the 10 Days of Thunder at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Here from Saturday night, Keselowski will come to the race fully prepared and showcase what he has to offer with a superior race car on his fingertips.

He has to make sure that the Ford Fusion is up and running so Keselowski can boost his chances of finishing one better and take home with a big stack of cash.

It can represent a significant preparation towards next week’s Coca-Cola 600 which counts as a championship points race.

It’s going to be the longest distance of any NASCAR Cup race ever.

However, being the last man standing by winning a Cup race for the first time in 2018 would make his statement a lot clearer by automatically locking his place in the upcoming playoffs.
