Austin Cindric looking to make out of the standalone field & the help of Ryan Blaney as his one-off weekend Spotter at Road America

Austin Cindric looks ready to showcase what he’s got both left and right turns at Road America.

Following last week’s disappointing 14th at Bristol, Cindric wants to go one better after finishing 2nd at Mid-Ohio a fortnight ago.

Looking back at his NASCAR XFINITY Series debut

It’s the place where Cindric made his very first NASCAR XFINITY Series race in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.

He even scored his first pole award in the No.22 Ford Mustang ahead out of 39 cars on the entire grid.

But when it comes to race day, he only led a lap & came home in 16th.

His recent Road Course performances

Three weeks ago, Cindric competed in his first road course race of 2018 at Watkins Glen in the NASCAR XFINITY Series.

On his eighth out of ninth race stint with the No.60 Roush Fenway Racing crew, He finished 13th from 14th.

A week later, Cindric scored his 2nd road course and 3rd overall XFINITY Series Pole at Mid-Ohio.

Despite leading the most laps of 59/75 laps, his pursuit of taking the victory has switched off with a few laps before the finish line.

That’s where the experienced Series racer Justin Allgaier got around Cindric & held him on for the race win.

Conclusion

He’s more determined than ever to get himself ready and go one better for the win.

Cindric came so close not once but twice:

  • 4th, June 2018 in Pocono
  • 2nd, August 2018 in Mid-Ohio

With the standalone field shaping up once more before the Cup regulars complete their 7th & last token in this series next month.

Cindric has plenty of experience racing both left and right turns not only in NASCAR but other series too:

  • IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship
  • Bathurst 12 Hour
  • IMSA Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge

And it’s one of the advantages Cindric will use this opportunity wisely both tomorrow and Saturday.

What’s even better about helping this young talented youngster is that Ryan Blaney will spot for him too on Saturday afternoon.

Give Cindric the best learning experience from a regular Cup driver in the same team as much as possible.

It’s the one Blaney wanted to give Cindric a bit more momentum once he enters the XFINITY Series Playoffs at Richmond.

Coming here to Road America as one of the leading contenders, Austin Cindric cannot afford to slip one down to another disappointing weekend.

With no other Penske driver filling-in, Cindric will drive the No.22 Ford Mustang having competed in the No.12 number plate last week.
