Domestic Cricket: Game 9 of the 2018 JLT One-Day Cup: South Australia’s Feedback

It’s a shame to say that South Australia is unlucky to lose yesterday.

Bar Alex Carey who scored 42, their top order treading water.

Jake Weaterald has plenty of fine-tuning as he misjudged the pull shot going straight to James Peirson.

The same went for Callum Ferguson who cheap cannon balls up high but Max Bryant did have difficulties catching it.

Don’t forget Xavier Barrett’s fantastic follow through caught & bowl.

It frustrated Jake Lehmann trying to hit straight down the ground, left on 6.

Alex Ross & Cameron Valente may did little to save SA during their early fall.

But Tom Cooper was the only man who saved SA from further collapse.

He did have the experience & patience to justify the 50 followed by a century.

Plus the whole squad are thankful of Cooper’s presence where they ended up with all out for 280.

Cooper’s not the only man to rescue SA later in the game.

So did Adam Zampa, he’s more of a frontline leg-spinner & bats at 9.

Zampa did follow the basics and just hit the bad balls at the right time.

Wow!! He can bat well from the tail.

Would like to see more of Zampa batting a bit higher next time as he made a contribution on 32 runs off 22 deliveries.

For the bowling, none of the quick help too much apart from Zampa’s 3/58.

Too short or loose from most of the time.

Not enough attacking finesse with the good line and length.

Plus they should be sorry for the dropped catches.

They could’ve done better if they won the toss & field first.

The situation would’ve had a much better scenario & outcome.

But they need plenty of fine-tuning needing to bounce back tomorrow v another out of the form side of Tasmania at Bankstown Oval.
