Round 5, Game 2 of the 2018 Rugby Championship: Argentina v New Zealand at Jose Amalfitani Stadium

Nicolas Sanchez went off to a great start with a penalty kick as Argentina take the first three points.

Plenty of defensive mistakes made having joined the ruck incorrectly & going offside.

Although, NZ found immediately found some redemption.

Ben Smith found some pace on the far left-hand side with the help of Waisake Naholo & TJ Perenara.

B. Smith then fed Rieko Ioane at the right time with the pass.

And Ioane found it too easy on the run home with the NZ TRY.

Argentina misjudged the line-out throw with the knock-on firsthand.

NZ capitalized the scrum immunity as Waisake Naholo gone down low & secured their 2nd TRY.

Having seen Argentina struggling to build the attack, NZ won the turnover.

Ioane ran himself home for the five points.

Thanks to a strong NZ defense, they’re able to capitalize another big score.

So far, Beauden Barrett’s kicks aren’t a problem.

Three conversions successfully attempted into the goal posts for extra points.

HALF-TIME: Argentina 3-21 New Zealand

2nd Half

Sonny Bill Williams helped Rieko Ioane put on a great show running over the halfway line.

Ioane may have fallen a few meters short touched by Argentina.

But NZ has another shot with the penalty before Patrick Tuipulotu scored their fourth TRY of the night.

They’re able to capitalize on Argentina’s mistake by pushing their hands in the ruck.

Then they’ve performed on a perfect show through the true line-out & mauling on the run home.

Tomas Cubelli finally touched down for Argentina’s 1st TRY.

Argentina, at last, took the line-out immunity wisely with the offside advantage from Beauden Barrett.

Nicolas Sanchez added the two points via the easy conversion kick.

Emiliano Boffelli found a gap on the far-left before charging with another Argentina TRY.

And in return, Nicolas Sanchez produced another fantastic conversion kick for the extra two points.

Aaron Smith controlled the scrum nicely by staying square.

Smith may have mishandled the pass a little bit as Richie Mo’unga chips in before Aaron Lienert-Brown touched down.

NZ again capitalized the five-meter scrum as they built another fantastic set-piece attack.

That puts them back in the reckoning for the Bonus Point.

Despite a nasty brawl between the two sides, the game is New Zealand’s night at Jose Amalfitani Stadium.
