David Ragan & the No.38 Front Row Motorsports Team looks ahead before resuming practice from tomorrow morning at Martinsville Speedway.
He’s looking to build on from his successful Top 20 run of 19th last weekend in Kansas & make it the 12th time with four races left this year.
His Martinsville Cup Series Record
Seven months back, Ragan performed not wrong when he finished in 25th.
Though, not the best of times 12 months ago after coming home in 28th.
But he has two Top 25s out of his last three since Ragan returned to Front Row Motorsports at the start of last year.
That’s where he finished 24th in March 2017.
Don’t forget he did very well in one of these stints in a Toyota for quite some time:
- 5th, March 2015
- 25th, October 2015
- 21st, March 2016
- 37th, October 2016
If you look at his first stint with FRM, Ragan only scored a Top 25 through his first four races before making a miracle late in 2014:
- 24th, March 2012
- 26th, October 2012
- 30th, March 2013
- 43rd/Engine, October 2013
- 28th, March 2014
- 10th, October 2014
In a Roush car, Ragan only scored a Top 10 in nine races during March 2011 in 8th.
Apart from that, it’s all several finishes within the Top 15-20 mark.

Yes, Martinsville is always going to be a tough short track to race on.
But he did admire about the venue very well.
So that would bring him plenty of confidence here & there.
Ragan & the No.38 Team will push everything they can possible to post reasonable lap times.
Make every session count that will help Ragan execute the areas very well in the eye for a positive outcome.
He’s done that last week finishing in 19th and wants to the same every weekend especially with four races left in 2018.
Though, he wants to keep an eye on fellow small-budget team JTG Daughtery Racing.
Their organization is well run like FRM’s and credit to their driver Chris Buscher on his recent 16th place run.
Now, Ragan’s ready to battle them aggressively without a fight and would love to finish ahead of both JTG cars on a regular basis.
Not only that, Ragan’s racing for everything to make FRM one of the standout teams based on hard work without the compromise of bigger equipment cars like Joe Gibbs Racing & Stewart-Haas.
So moving up the chain closer within the Top 20 in the Drivers’ Standings would be the icing on the cake.
It’s going to be a tough ask.
But he & FRM knows that they have the strength to meet these expectations that any Cup team wants to succeed in NASCAR.
