NASCAR: Ty Dillon & Germain Racing comes home in 15th at Martinsville Speedway

Ty Dillon rolled off the line in 23rd where he initially runs okay in 21st during the first 30-40 laps.

When Jeb Burton crashed at Turn 2, he immediately pitted for a chassis adjustment alongside new sets of rubber & gas as he’s tight.

On the next restart, the No.13 Chevy’s condition remained unchanged for a while before he made his breakthrough inside the Top 20.

Credit in adding more chassis treatment after Jimmie Johnson spun on Lap 65.

Although, he’s still sometimes tight as his brakes gets hot.

That’s where T.Dillon lost a spot late & ended up in 21st after Stage 1.

Stage 2

He pitted again during the break for more adjustments hoping for a better next run & improve his cornering.

When T.Dillon restarted in 23rd, the momentum remained the same as was during the early portions of Stage 1.

He’s able to get by a few spots back having run in 15-16th during the first half of this installment.

Thanks to a better race car, it helped him execute and pass more drivers caution-free en route to his 12th place finish by the halfway mark.

Stage 3

On Lap 275, Ty Dillon rolled off at the start of the final stanza in 10th.

The No.13 Chevy still looked great down in 12th on his initial run during the first half of this stage.

Within 100 laps left, a few yellows may have worried him about getting tight.

But with the right adjustments, he’s able to move up and run as high as 7th.

On the run home, He may have lost a bit of momentum via resets through minor damage during the second last restart.

But at least, he’s happy with the result in 15th.

With a fast race car, any driver can execute and pull off a high performance.

No matter how big or small this organization can do during 36 races of the year.

Well, it’s certainly possible for Ty Dillon where he built a fantastic long-run gameplan from start to finish.

Not much fuss apart from the late minor damage during the final yellow of the day.

But It’s all about showcasing how much Ty Dillon can still offer regarding talent and value in racing at Cup level.

He’s made a Top 10 run before in 6th during the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona back in July.

Crew Chief Matt Borland won’t accept inconsistent runs as a success for the benefit of Ty & the organization.

And they want more of the same performances like Sunday going into the final three races of 2018.

That includes next year as it’s still unfinished business going into Texas this weekend.
