It’s the 36th and final race of the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series where it’s Championship 4 Day.
Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick & Joey Logano will be fighting for one big prize: The Championship.
For now, let’s sit back & relax as we’re about to get through 267 laps of action at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Stage 1 Part 1
Denny Hamlin leads his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Kyle Busch at the start of green.
Martin Truex Jr didn’t have a great start where he fell from 3rd to 5th in the first few laps.
Joey Logano isn’t far behind Kyle Busch in 3rd for the Championship spot lead.
On Lap 19, Brad Keselowski slid up towards the middle line where he bumped the No.99 of Kyle Weatherman between Turns 1 & 2.
Having picked up some scratches in the No.2 car, Keselowski lost a spot to Truex in 6th.
Kevin Harvick’s strategy worked out so far when he quickly fired off from 12th to 4th.
Stage 1 Part 2
Midway through the opening segment, Kyle Larson hits pit road first before the Top 5 cars came after him.
Although, Martin Truex Jr. stayed out for a lap or two as he looks to differentiate his strategy.
After Harvick pitted for the first time of the day, he quickly closed the gap before he swooped for the lead-off Denny Hamlin.
On the other hand, Larson’s strategy also worked when he exited pit road from 10th and moved up to 5th.
Not long later, he got by Denny Hamlin & both Championship 4 contenders of Kyle Busch & Joey Logano in 2nd with ten to go.
As Stage 1 comes to a close, Kevin Harvick took out the opening mini-win with the next 80 laps to go in the 2nd stanza.
