JR Motorsports today unveiled this year’s paint scheme for Michael Annett in the No.1 Chevy machine.
As always, Pilot Flying J & TMC Transportation will continue its association with Annett for the 11th straight year.
The same goes between JRM and these two partners for the third season ever since Annett joined them.
He had a mixed an indifferent 2018 when Annett only scored three Top 10 out of 33 races.
Although, he ended last season on a high thanks to his 9th placed finish at Homestead.
But the Championship Standings convey that most of his Top 10 runs come from the 2nd half of the year.
Plus he finished 14th behind John Hunter Nemechek which saw him miss the Playoff bubble.
Now, 2019 is a fresh start as always to bounce back.
Annett has taken over the veteran shield from fellow experienced and now retired driver, Elliott Sadler in the No.1 machine.
He has finished Top 5 in the Drivers’ Standings at XFINITY level once before back in 2012 when he drove the No.43 for Richard Petty Motorsports.
With plenty of advice from predecessor Sadler, Annett, at last, can rediscover his magic under his blessing.
If so, Annett could be in the Playoffs for the second time in his XFINITY Series career which last ran two years back.
Where will he finish in 2019?
The competition will always be fierce considering there’s some bright youngsters in this crowd.
However, Annett has plenty of experience under his sleeve despite not winning a race before in all three series.
In this car, Annett will make the Playoffs this time which would mark as some improvement progressed.
Though, a Top 8-10 finish in the Drivers’ Standings by Homestead will be a realistic goal to accomplish from Annett & the No.1 Crew.
He can certainly make a breakthrough season in top-team equipment to get the job done.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. believes in him and appreciates the fact that there are sponsorship dollars involved.
It will help Annett achieve the best results possible out of a 33-race season.
Annett will learn from his mistakes, move on and make the No.1 consistent within the Top 7-10 mark.
That’s all he’s got to do so Annett can slowly build towards battling the front-runners regularly.
So progress will take time as always.
But Annett has the support he needed to move ahead and hold off the youngsters.
That way Annett can entirely focus on helping JRM delivering a third straight Title & first Drivers’ Trophy for himself.
