It’s a close first quarter where the Melbourne Vixens may have the early lead.
But the West Coast Fever catches up later, especially during the Rebel Power 5 format, so they’re getting points.
However, the Fever has caught up work at the back plus the discipline in Stage 2 as they trail by seven points (14-21).
Nothing much has happened in the second quarter.
Fever has yet to improve their defense having leaked goals & despite netting in upfront while the Vixens continued to extend the scoreboard lead towards half-time.
HALF-TIME: Fever 28-34 Vixens
The battle remained the same for the Vixens to still stay ahead thanks to a fabulous front three behind Kate Maloney in the middle.
For the Fever, the defense has improved, which at least helped catch up with some points, but again the discipline is one part where they need to stop leak those crucial points.
It’s still not over yet as we head towards a seven-point showdown (45-52) in the fourth and final quarter of the night.
In the end, the strong defense and attack for the Vixens held off with the win.
Meanwhile, the Fever struggled to communicate via the lost penalties and a leaky defense despite their front three matches the Vixens’ attacking play.
FULL-TIME: Fever 59-68 Vixens
