Football News, Brazil wins the Olympic Soccer Gold Medal at Yokohama Stadium, 19 years after winning the 2002 FIFA World Cup at the same venue

A great Saturday night of Olympic action to watch with the Men’s Soccer Final.

Both Spain and Brazil were side by side for the first 90 minutes of play.

Although the defending champs from Rio (Brazil) have struck the net first courtesy of Centre Forward Matheus Cunha, But Mikel Oyarzabal brought this equaliser to extra time for Spain within 20 minutes after the break.

In the end, Malcom scored the winning goal during the 2nd extra time play before Brazil successfully defended the goal medal for the second time at Yokohama Stadium.

This is the same venue where the Brazil Men’s soccer team last touched glory 19 years ago thanks to a Ronaldo double brace that helped them lift the 2002 FIFA World Cup.

Hard luck for Spain with the silver where they were well in contention, but just couldn’t find a way to fire back especially when subbing a few players late in this game.

The Olympics are almost over and we can’t wait tonight for the Closing Ceremony as the baton prepares to hand over from Tokyo to Paris in 2024.
