Tennis News, Barbora Krejcikova goes from a 0-6 down in the 1st set to a thrilling comeback out of nowhere with the semi-final win v Anett Kontaveit in Sydney

What an incredible 1st semi-final tie in the women’s Sydney Tennis Classic with Czech’s Barbora Krejcikova & Anett Kontaveit from Estonia at Ken Rosewall Arena earlier this afternoon, Kontaveit was too good at the beginning but Krejcikova didn’t leave that far behind when she came out of nowhere, won the 2nd set and took so long until the very end with the win.

Score: 0-6 to Kontaveit, 6-4 & 7-6 via 14-12 tiebreaker to Krejcikova

Love the fightback from the reigning French Open champion who was on the brink of being eliminated after she went an opening set down, she just rebuilt the momentum over time where she saw the 2nd set as her re-start before the finish line came to her first thanks to these competitive battles against Kontaveit.

And unlucky to see Kontaveit got crashed out of the semis here in Sydney, she did so well with a very easy start that saw Krejcikova being stuck on first gear & was just one set away to strike her once again in straight sets. However, she was just blown away by the renewed momentum Krejcikova fought back since then & couldn’t find a way to stop her from reaching the homestretch.

Krejcikova’s next opponent in the final tomorrow will be either Spain’s Paula Badosa (5th seed) or Daria Kasatkina from Russia, that 2nd semi-final match up will take place later tonight.
